Moon REVIEW

Moon was an interesting experience for me... For $4.99 I got a shooter that had its ups and its downs. Find out more after the Jump.

Now... This game is quite a graphical gem considering some of the not-so-shiny games avalible to the DS. The graphics are on par to some older first person shooters like Quake and Half Life, which at first amazed me. But there are certain areas where this game lacks. The graphics, while are really good for the DS, often are grainy when you get close to an object in the game. The cut-scenes are nice...kinda. The audio for the scenes are all done by what seems like the same person. There is no emotion in the diolouge either, making it seem like a serious fan dubb. The game doesn't have lasting appeal. You can replay the game on a harder setting, but the buck stops there. There is no New Game + where you can replay older missons with the weapons you gather in other levels, which sucks.

One more important note: when I was playing it, I felt the story was pretty dry.You are an astronaut on the moon investigating these pre-made buildings that were just discovered. Long story short, the buildings were erected by aliens who harvest humans and turn them into energy (the same stuff you use to recover HP. Eeeew).
The levels are full of little consoles that share information with you when you tap them. This attempts to explain the story a little bit better by adding little "logs" from astronauts and scientists. Then there is the pointless conversation with your in-game comrades that shares little to no information. Ahem. I was rambling. But the point is, I would reccomend this game, but do keep in mind, it will not be the best game ever. For 5 bucks, it is a decent game, but it could be better. Like adding more blatant cannibalism.
